সিটিসেল নিয়ে এলো ওয়্যারলেস ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ
দেশের প্রথম মোবাইল ফোন অপারেটর সিটিসেল বাজারে নিয়ে এসেছে দ্রুতগতির ওয়্যারলেস ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ mycitycell ZOOM. নতুন এ টেকনোলোজির মাধ্যমে ZOOM গ্রাহকরা দেশের ৬১টি জেলার (সিটিসেল নেটওয়ার্কের আওতায়) যেকোনো স্থান থেকে দ্রুতগতির ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিস ভোগ করতে পারবেন। দেশের যেকোনো ওয়্যারলেস ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিসের চেয়ে এ CDMA2000 1X ভিত্তিক সার্ভিসের মাধ্যমে গ্রাহকরা অধিক দ্রুত ডাটা আদান-প্রদান করতে পারবেন। ZOOM-এর গ্রাহকদের দেশব্যাপী বিশেষ সেবা এবং সেল্স সার্ভিস প্রদানের লক্ষ্যে সিটিসেল বিশেষ পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেছে। গ্রাহকবৃন্দ PCMCIA ডাটা কার্ড অথবা USB ডাটা মোডেমের সাহায্যে এবং নির্দিষ্ট হ্যান্ডসেটের মাধ্যমে এই সার্ভিস উপভোগ করতে পারবেন। প্রথমে ছয় ধরনের সুবিধা প্রদানের মাধ্যমে এ সার্ভিস বাজারে ছাড়া হয়েছে। ঘরে-বাইরে, চলার পথেসহ সর্বত্রই এখন হাইস্পীড ইন্টারনেট সুবিধা উপভোগ করার সহজ মাধ্যম হিসেবে কাজ করবে mycitycell ZOOM.
এটা তো গেলো খবর এবার আসি বাস্তবে। সিটিসেলের স্লোগান ‘Because We Care’-কে আমি আমার আমার দেয়া লোগোতে একটু পরিবর্তন করে দিয়েছি। এটা আসলে হওয়া উচিৎ ‘Because We Scare’, অনেকেই ভাবতে পারেন আমি কেনো এই কথা বলছি, তাহলে চলুন এক ঝলক দেখা যাক ওদের ট্যারিফ-
এই রেট ট্রান্সফারের, মানে আপলোডই করুক আর ডাউনলোডই করুক, ট্রান্সফার তো কিছু একটা হবেই এবং তখনই টাকা দিতে হবে। আমার কথাই বলি, আমি ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করি আমার কাজের জন্য এবং যখন আমি ব্যবহার করিনা, তখন সিনেমা ডাউনলোড দিয়ে রাখি (আমার এই পোস্টে আমি আমার ডাউনলোড সার্ভারটা দেখিয়েছিলাম 
) যেটা সবসময়ই কানেক্টেড অবস্থায় থাকে। তাহলে এরকম ট্রান্সফারের জন্য কত টাকা দিতে হবে আমাকে একবার ভাবুন! আমার জানা মতে এরকম রেট প্রচলিত আছে অস্ট্রেলিয়াতে এবং আমেরিকার কিছু কিছু আইএসপিতে, এবং অবশ্যই কর্পরেট কানেকশনের (যেমন ওয়েব হোস্টিং কোম্পানীর) ক্ষেত্রে।
উত্তরবঙ্গের ডিলারদের সাথে মিটিঙ করার সময় সিটিসেলের একজন কর্মকর্তা বলেন, “মানুষ ইন্টারনেট সঙযোগ নিয়ে গান ডাউনলোড করে, সিনেমা ডাউনলোড করে। এরকম গ্রাহক আমাদের দরকার নাই।” এখন কথা হলো, তাহলে এদের গ্রাহক কে? আমি গান নামাই আর নীল সিনেমা নামাই তোদের কি? তাহলে তোরা কি বিজ্ঞাপন দেখাচ্ছিস?
বিজ্ঞাপনের আগা মাথা নাই, ভাবটা এমন যে এই ঝুম না যুম চালালে পাবলিক একটা করে বিদেশী বৌ পাবে। প্রেমিকা না পতিতা, সেটাও আবার বিজ্ঞাপনে বোঝা গেলো না। যুম ব্যবহার করে কি আমরা পতিতা ভাড়া করবো বিদেশ থেকে, না-কি? হাই স্পিড যুমিঙ = হাই ফাই পতিতা, কম্বিনেশনটা হেভি না?
তাত্ত্বীকভাবে গ্রামীণফোনের EDGE থেকে CDMA (EVDO না) প্রযুক্তির গতি কম। ইন্টারনেটে খোঁজ করলে হাজার হাজার লিঙ্ক পাওয়া যাবে এই বিষয়ে। তাহলে পত্রিকার বিজ্ঞাপনে এরা কিভাবে দাবী করে যে বাজারের সবচাইতে দ্রুতগতির মোবাইল ইন্টারনেট দেবে এরা?
এই স্বভাব সিটিসেলের বহুআগে থেকে, আমার মনে হয় সিটিসেলে কিছু মাথা মোটা লোকজন আছে উপর লেভেলে যার কারনে এরকম আলতু ফালতু রেট, আলতু ফালতু বিজ্ঞাপন তৈরী হয়। আমার ধারণা এরা খুব শিঘ্রই এদের রেটে পরিবর্তন আনবে, না হলে ছিটকে যাবে বাজার থেকে…

Your comment regarding the advertisement is wrong I guess and give me the indication of your sexual frustration. Actually I think the advert is designed in the light of well known emotional appealing marketing communication technique and also wants to say that citycell zoom is making the world smaller day by day in terms of faster communication technology.
I think you better start thinking outside box and do something immediately to get rid of your sexual frustration.

Land phones with Broadband Internet by December !
BTCL (former BTTB) is going to provide ADSL broadband with their land phone connection by December.
I heard from a BTCL system eng that the price will be lower than most private ISPs and the consumer will have better speed withe lower charge. I even had a printed list of the possible pakcage, but can’t find right now. Once I get it, I’ll post it for you guys. But what I can remember, their unlimited night package speed was fantastic and the speed-price ration was adequate.

BTTB’s dial-up was good. They ware the first who spread internet around the country through Dial-Up. If they provide ADSL Internet, that would be wonderful. But I don’t trust cables.

It’d be great if someone could help me out here:
I live in Bashundhara (as in next to baridhara) and need a high speed connection over which I could talk on Skype without breakdowns or echos and such. Any idea what I could use? Most providers do not have fibre optic network around here so I guess Im pretty much stuck with cellphone and wireless. But I am yet to find anything that can offer me a good speed.
Any help will be appreciated.

They are emotinoly blackmail us. I remember some ad.. about GP ( may be ) a girls father dead and she send her massege. My mama has dead in 2005 & her 5 year girl one day saw it, she cry for her father. Next time when is ad.. starts we change it or off the T.V.

HI GUYS.im also using my citycell zoom and i must say it is shit krap but i know a few hacks that might make it faster.best is this one:go to start>run and type gpedit.msc then a window opens.there go to the first administrative templates and then network and then to Qos packet scheduler.then double click on limit reservable bandwidth and select enabled and in the bandwidth% box below change the value from 20% to 0% so that ur net becomes about 20% faster.I am trying to get better hacks and also trying to jam the zoom network and i must say im proceeding well so goodluck guys and if u have any good ways to increase the net speed then plz let me know!!! ^_^
I baught Zoom in January 2009 and tried many different location in/out Dhaka. Zoom is a lying garbage and i can assure you that this company citycell won’t last long in the market. Do this dyeing business a favor- dont use it, dont buy it.
Alternative is whatever out there (Edge), at least their customer service is a bit better and they dont lie on your face. Phone companies in Bangladesh must be regulated. It is not an option to be extremely dishonest and we the people continue to pay and patron them just because they ‘bring’ technology.
I am using Zoom 2 Gb @ 450Tk/month. Its great. I uesd to get 9 to 14 Kb/s speed

You are confused may be. EDGE has faster data capabilities than legacy CDMA (which CityCell is using) but CDMA EvDO (Evolution Data Optimized) is still faster than any present wireless technology.
However WiMax is fastest, but still we do not have any clear concept on the technology, how that will be deployed.

Max speed 17kb per sec. pick hour a ektu down hoy 10kbps. Citycell EVDO chalu korse but aita corporate user der jonno.

I download a lots of torrent file. currently i am using gp p2 via nokia n72. the download speed is around 15-25 kbs.I had a zoom prepaid rim which iam not using at the moment but i am planning to by a zoom usb modem. I live in Zikatola, Dhaka. can anyone suggest me regarding speed, torrentdownload,etc of Zoom.
GP EDGE P2 charge at least should be 500Tk/month & P4 charge should be 20tk/day Then it will be great for us.
Now i am using Zoom, speed is around 15 kbs, but the charge for grameen p2 conection is now 850 TK / month for unlimited usage.I think Zoom should charge similarly if not lower.
সিটিসেলের মত ফালতু নেটওয়ার্ক বাংলাদেশে আর ২য় টা পাওয়া যাবেনা। একবার ট্রাই-এ আপনি জীবনেও নেট কানেক্টেড হতে পারবেনা। আর স্পীড ? সকালে যদিওবা 8-10 KBPS ওঠে, দুপুরের পর হতেই 0-4 KBPS. শালারা বলে বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে Fast আর এখন তো দেখি এরা পেছন দিক থেকে Fast.
