সিটিসেল নিয়ে এলো ওয়্যারলেস ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ
দেশের প্রথম মোবাইল ফোন অপারেটর সিটিসেল বাজারে নিয়ে এসেছে দ্রুতগতির ওয়্যারলেস ইন্টারনেট সংযোগ mycitycell ZOOM. নতুন এ টেকনোলোজির মাধ্যমে ZOOM গ্রাহকরা দেশের ৬১টি জেলার (সিটিসেল নেটওয়ার্কের আওতায়) যেকোনো স্থান থেকে দ্রুতগতির ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিস ভোগ করতে পারবেন। দেশের যেকোনো ওয়্যারলেস ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিসের চেয়ে এ CDMA2000 1X ভিত্তিক সার্ভিসের মাধ্যমে গ্রাহকরা অধিক দ্রুত ডাটা আদান-প্রদান করতে পারবেন। ZOOM-এর গ্রাহকদের দেশব্যাপী বিশেষ সেবা এবং সেল্স সার্ভিস প্রদানের লক্ষ্যে সিটিসেল বিশেষ পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেছে। গ্রাহকবৃন্দ PCMCIA ডাটা কার্ড অথবা USB ডাটা মোডেমের সাহায্যে এবং নির্দিষ্ট হ্যান্ডসেটের মাধ্যমে এই সার্ভিস উপভোগ করতে পারবেন। প্রথমে ছয় ধরনের সুবিধা প্রদানের মাধ্যমে এ সার্ভিস বাজারে ছাড়া হয়েছে। ঘরে-বাইরে, চলার পথেসহ সর্বত্রই এখন হাইস্পীড ইন্টারনেট সুবিধা উপভোগ করার সহজ মাধ্যম হিসেবে কাজ করবে mycitycell ZOOM.
এটা তো গেলো খবর এবার আসি বাস্তবে। সিটিসেলের স্লোগান ‘Because We Care’-কে আমি আমার আমার দেয়া লোগোতে একটু পরিবর্তন করে দিয়েছি। এটা আসলে হওয়া উচিৎ ‘Because We Scare’, অনেকেই ভাবতে পারেন আমি কেনো এই কথা বলছি, তাহলে চলুন এক ঝলক দেখা যাক ওদের ট্যারিফ-
এই রেট ট্রান্সফারের, মানে আপলোডই করুক আর ডাউনলোডই করুক, ট্রান্সফার তো কিছু একটা হবেই এবং তখনই টাকা দিতে হবে। আমার কথাই বলি, আমি ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করি আমার কাজের জন্য এবং যখন আমি ব্যবহার করিনা, তখন সিনেমা ডাউনলোড দিয়ে রাখি (আমার এই পোস্টে আমি আমার ডাউনলোড সার্ভারটা দেখিয়েছিলাম 
) যেটা সবসময়ই কানেক্টেড অবস্থায় থাকে। তাহলে এরকম ট্রান্সফারের জন্য কত টাকা দিতে হবে আমাকে একবার ভাবুন! আমার জানা মতে এরকম রেট প্রচলিত আছে অস্ট্রেলিয়াতে এবং আমেরিকার কিছু কিছু আইএসপিতে, এবং অবশ্যই কর্পরেট কানেকশনের (যেমন ওয়েব হোস্টিং কোম্পানীর) ক্ষেত্রে।
উত্তরবঙ্গের ডিলারদের সাথে মিটিঙ করার সময় সিটিসেলের একজন কর্মকর্তা বলেন, “মানুষ ইন্টারনেট সঙযোগ নিয়ে গান ডাউনলোড করে, সিনেমা ডাউনলোড করে। এরকম গ্রাহক আমাদের দরকার নাই।” এখন কথা হলো, তাহলে এদের গ্রাহক কে? আমি গান নামাই আর নীল সিনেমা নামাই তোদের কি? তাহলে তোরা কি বিজ্ঞাপন দেখাচ্ছিস?
বিজ্ঞাপনের আগা মাথা নাই, ভাবটা এমন যে এই ঝুম না যুম চালালে পাবলিক একটা করে বিদেশী বৌ পাবে। প্রেমিকা না পতিতা, সেটাও আবার বিজ্ঞাপনে বোঝা গেলো না। যুম ব্যবহার করে কি আমরা পতিতা ভাড়া করবো বিদেশ থেকে, না-কি? হাই স্পিড যুমিঙ = হাই ফাই পতিতা, কম্বিনেশনটা হেভি না?
তাত্ত্বীকভাবে গ্রামীণফোনের EDGE থেকে CDMA (EVDO না) প্রযুক্তির গতি কম। ইন্টারনেটে খোঁজ করলে হাজার হাজার লিঙ্ক পাওয়া যাবে এই বিষয়ে। তাহলে পত্রিকার বিজ্ঞাপনে এরা কিভাবে দাবী করে যে বাজারের সবচাইতে দ্রুতগতির মোবাইল ইন্টারনেট দেবে এরা?
এই স্বভাব সিটিসেলের বহুআগে থেকে, আমার মনে হয় সিটিসেলে কিছু মাথা মোটা লোকজন আছে উপর লেভেলে যার কারনে এরকম আলতু ফালতু রেট, আলতু ফালতু বিজ্ঞাপন তৈরী হয়। আমার ধারণা এরা খুব শিঘ্রই এদের রেটে পরিবর্তন আনবে, না হলে ছিটকে যাবে বাজার থেকে…

my appoximate bandwidth usage now are -
50% for videos( video song, movies etc)
20% p0rn
15% browsing
10% games & software
5% mp3 song
I did use yahoo voice chat but left that about one year ago. and there was a time when I used 80% bandwidth for mp3 downloading(about 3 years ago).
lol. getting a job for viewing blog or clicking on a website will never improve IT sector. the kind of bandwidth the IT sector needs, they already have. for example, they can get a order for making a customized software. they work six months and maybe make a software which is 50MB or so. with a dialup line that will take 4 hours to upload. so bandwidth is not a problem for them. bandwidth maybe required for some business like call centers. which are not direct IT sector.
IT sector improves or not, its not my problem. kolkata has started iptv now. we want things like that.

God damn, I hate myself and my countrymen for being so narrow minded, so obtusely backwarded and medival. Inter net “is” used for downloading Porn(*ography), I agree, but does anyone realize that is has other potentials too ? For example, I once had a job as a foreign blogger on Downloadsquad, but lost it just because I was unable to login timely to post my daily, pre-approved, quota. If the powers of malice and famine was vested upon me (which unfortunately God takes care of himself), I’d wish day and night..from Fazr prayer to Esha that these BTTB officials, their wives, children, and every relative from Gaibandha to Goalanda be beseized by the horror of black plague….and may blood run down their nostrils until the writing on the walls say “The World Told you So..Suckers”.
Now enough with the cuss words…can anyone, please give a final verdict? I’m fed up with all these so called “Hi Speed Internet Providers” including local LAN services, EDGE(GP), effing Teletalk, Citycell Zoom and so on. Haven’t tried out NationalPhone yet, because my fear is that it might turn out to be the same old ballgame. So anyone has any final suggestion?
Just a point of note, I live in the Old Dhaka (Lalbag) area which just happens to be cursed with the worst Internet services of the city and I’m also willing to pinch out a few extra bucks for a good service (which shouldn’t exceed 1200/- tk btw) .

For the love ov god ppl, WHY THE HELL do ya guyz allwayz mix up kBps with kbps???????I’v gotta say zoom started out nice!!!!????But when the customer service officer lied 2 me ’bout ma slow connection (& didn’t have any F*&^%ng idea bout what EVDO is) I said enough!!!!!!!!!!They even tried to mislead me (He even said “APNI VUL BOLTESEN!!!!!!!!”) are mia ato taka dia telecommunication portesi(3rd year) ki batashe?????
And that god awfull tarrif!ami jokhon parar dokan theke link 3 er shared connection nisilam tokhono monthly bout 7-8 gb download kortam monthly 800 tk die.Most of us hav 2 use & maintain a budget guyz.Ne way i’m usin EDGE(GP) on my nokia 5300 set now & Guess wat? Gettin 19-20 ,sometimes it even spikes up2 38!!!And i think i ca n safely say when grameen turns to 3g…… it’s gonna increase A LOT.

Only 20% lower.BTTB just want to make us fool.This is not going to give us fast or cheap internet if you are thinking .thats my thought.and well i think if more users use NP and their bandwidth used to its maximum then its speed will also come down i reckon.
Ya.. I talked abt NationalPhone in Hasin’s Blog and also in Junal’s Blog b4.
I know 4 people now who is using Nationalphone for last 2 months atleast and they all are getting constant 15 kBps .. or to be safe with my comments i can say 15 kBps average speed. Its very good speed comparing to other wireless Internet provider.

One thing, the reason NP users not getting more than 18 kBps or so is because CDMA 2000 1x technology can’t deliver more than 144 kbps(kilobit) or so.
