Dear all,
My intuition of sending this e-mail to you is to raise my voice against LabAid Cardiac Hospital and provide a real picture about LabAid, so that the LabAid hospital change their attitude with their future customers.

Please read the attached news paper article which was published on The Daily Janakantha on 19 Dec, 2007, also, please see the actual condition of my father while he was under treatment at LabAid Cardiac Hospital :

(CAUTION: This video is very graphical!)

The person that you are watching on this video is not in this world anymore! He died on 11 Nov, 2007 at LabAid Cardiac Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh while treating under Prof. (Dr.)Baren Chakrabarti, Prof. (Dr.) M. Matiur Rahman (who is actually not a professor, but using this fancy title) and Prof. (Dr.) Ali Hossain (the best doctors in our country with some fancy fake title.!!!).

We trusted the fancy ads of LabAid, also trusted the fancy titled doctors and nurses. But look at the real picture of LabAid’s CCU Bed No. 8. After the surgery they left my father on the bed without any proper attention. The LabAid doctors are so busy to catch another new CCU patient, which they forget about stitching the surgery area of the current patient. Look at the blood all over the bed! Look at.. how clean LabAid’s CCU unit is!

I raised my voice when I saw the real picture of LabAid. For raising my voice I got slapped on my face in front of the all the people by the LabAid G.M. Mr. Imran Chowdhury.

I am sure LabAid doctors who were involve with my father’s treatment has got a good amount of share from the bill, but can they really tell that the hospital/or even the doctor’s has done a proper treatment for that helpless guy Mr. A. K. M. Fazlul Haq (my father)? He was just lying on the CCU Bed No. 8 helplessly for 15 days and expecting his sons, also the doctors will take care of him properly. We have done our part from the bottom of our heart; we were ready to spend all of our savings and everything to get a proper treatment for our father, because he is our father who took care of us properly. But Mr. or Ms. Lab Aid administrators….Have you guys taken care of my father properly? I am sure you did not, because I am the one who is one of your victims. How come a person who didn’t even have any heart surgery or any type of major surgery, but got a bill for 5 and Half lac taka (BD Tk. 5,00, 000.00, AU$8,155.00, US$7,288.00)???

Dr. Lutfor Rahman (Head of LabAid’s Cardiac Hospital ) (I am pointing you because you are the golden son of our country), do you guys still wanna claim that Heart Surgery is cheaper in Bangladesh now? On 11 Nov, 2007 when my auntie (Ms. Sharmin Naaz, Assitt. Commissioner of Taxes, Bangladesh Govt.) went to see with you regarding my father’s bill that time you mentioned about your contribution in Bangladesh. You were also talking about you can make 1 lac take in a matter of second. Well, done Dr. Lutfor Rahman…Well done! We’re really proud of your contribution (?) to our country! Here is one of your biggest contributions to our country’s medical history which was published on the Daily Janakantha on 19 Dec, 2007 — ("Lab Aid has become a human killing machine" The Daily Janakantha, 19 Dec, 2007")

Life is very interesting Dr. Lutfor Rahman! When we lost our love ones then we feel for it, but then we forget about it. Instead of forgetting about my father’s death, I want to raise my voice against LabAid Cardiac Hospital and request all of you to "STOP GOING TO THE LabAID for any heart treatment" and wanna make those doctors to understand that they should not play with any humans life, because no matter how powerful or rich they could be, they will never be able to give a life back to a dead man’s life! So, STOP fucking around with a human life, OKAI Dr. Lutfor Rahman, Prof (Dr.) Baren Chakraborty, also the others who are involve in this human killing business!

The LabAid hospital needs to know a little bit about the power of Internet in disseminating information. I will request to all of you also do the same (when forwarding the article, send CC or copies to the lab-aid related addresses, so that the LabAid individuals feel a little shame every time they receive a copy of this email).

Here are the email addresses of the LabAid individuals with their full name:

Its very pathetic. I have always heard that Lab Aid service is very good. However, we should know more details about its overall services before judging.

    Thanks Omi for sharing!

never go to apollo hospital in basundhara. i live in basundhara near apollo hospital. i have to say their emergency is good, so u may go there for emergency only. they have lot of equipments. but their doctors are not good. they hire young doctors with no experience or merit(most from private medical college) with less salaries. and those 2-3 indian doctors are even worse than bangladeshi doctors. india er batil doctor guli apollo the niye ase.

when u admit patient in a cabin, they will charge u for doctor visit 1000 tk for first visit in a day, 500 tk for the second visit. and doctors will visit whether u call or not and put input in computer and u have to pay the bill. there is nothing u can do. so that will be tk 1500 per day per doctor. my grandfather had two doctors so they charged us 3000 tk per day for doctor visit.

stay away from apollo, it has got nothing special, rather their pathology department frequently gives false report. and they will not accept report from other pathology centers like popular,lab-aid.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT THIS APOLLO HOSPITAL HAS NO LINK WITH APOLLO HOSPITAL IN INDIA. they cheat by making people think this hospital is branch of indian apollo.

    Hello everybody,

My name is Ali Tanvir Imam, I graduated in Civil Engg. with BUET 96 Batch. Then I completed my MBA from IBA. Both my wife & I work for private organization in Bangladesh. In December 2007, we have been blessed by a baby and our child have had suffered from carelessness, negligence and mistreatment from Lab Aid Specialized Hospital (Dhanmondi). I write you all to tell the story.

Our child was born on 11-December- 2007 in a perfect condition with 3.4 KG weight. She was a healthy baby altogether. The only matter was that she didn’t cry after being taken out to the world! Maybe then the Lab Aid people decided to make her cry anyhow possible! She had to see the cruel face of the world at such a young age!

After she was taken out from the womb, she was handed over from the gynecologist to the pediatrician. When the pediatrics doctor and nurse were cleaning the baby, they kept a heater running just beside the tray where our baby was lying. The heat went straight to our child’s body and her body was burnt badly. Her body was burnt from the middle of her back to the toes on the right side. But the doctor and the nurse didn’t pay attention to the burn and wrapped her in clothes in an effort to hide the mishap which eventually worsened the injuries. After a while she was taken to Neonatal ICU (NICU) for keeping in routine observation. She was lying there unattended for 3 hours with burns on her body! Then when I and our family members went to the NICU to see her how she was doing, a part of her body was uncovered and it was too red! We asked the nurses what happened, the doctor and the nurse said it was nothing! But we had taken out all the clothes from her body and oh god! There were blisters all over half of the right side of her body! All this time the doctor and the nurse kept mum and didn’t tell anyone anything hoping it would go unnoticed! And still after the burns were discovered the Lab Aid doctors put pressure on us to take over the baby. But we denied and demanded a proper treatment of the burns. We called in a renowned pediatrician and a burn specialist from outside to see the baby and their expression to the Lab Aid doctor was- what have you done to the baby!

She was then admitted in the NICU for treatment of the burn injuries. She cried all through the night in pain.

Below I would like to point out some characteristics of the Lab-Aid people in response to this incident throughout our stay in the hospital:

A heater was brought in the Operation Theatre and nobody at the hospital knew how to use and where to use it! There was no training given to the doctors or the nurses on that newly brought machine!

Lab Aid doctors tried to cover-up their misdeed and tried to hand over the baby to the family even after the family came to know about the burns. Instead of admitting the mishap and giving instant and proper treatment to the baby for the burns, the Lab-Aid people made the injuries even worse with time! Even after it was finally discovered that the baby received burn injuries from the Operation Theater- backed by opinions from renowned pediatricians and burn specialists from outside, Lab Aid consultant and doctors still tried to deny that it was their fault! They tried to establish with their best effort that it was a case of “congenital infection”! fortunately, our sister, being a doctor, was present in the operation theatre and she was the proof of a healthy baby being handed over to the pediatrics department of Lab Aid! Probably they will never allow any outsider into their OT again!

After her burn treatment began, Lab Aid consultant, doctors and administration officials tried hard to release the baby from the hospital even before she was out of danger! The doctor who had burnt our child was given duties in the NICU to watch over our child! How ironic! We waited for 5 days for the Lab Aid officials to say something on this issue, and then we went to the administration to notify the incident. They already knew it all from the very first day but didn’t come to us even with a word of condolence and had the mindset to let things go and cover up the incident. The pediatrics consultant and duty doctor finally admitted but with the words said to us as: “it is a simple burn, nothing severe and there will be no marks on the baby’s body.

We had to stay in the hospital for 13 days (10 days in addition to what would have been required in normal cases) for her treatment. It was 13 days of misery, tears, suffering and tension. We had taken her home after she was out of danger. She is still recovering.

A child not even passing 5 minutes on earth had to know the cruel picture of mankind!

On January 23, 2008 a press-conference was held at Press-club, Dhaka on mistreatment by Lab Aid hospitals where some victimized families participated. I and other 6 family attended the press conference. A number of newspaper journalists and TV channel persons attended the conference. A feature has been aired on this conference on Banglavision TV channel news on 7:30 PM, 10:30 PM and 1 AM on Banglavision on Jan 23, 2008. On the following day, The Prothom Alo, Daily Ittefaq, The Daily Star, New Age etc also published it.

Hope something good comes out of our efforts. Finally, I would request all to forward this mail to your love ones to help them know about this hospital.

    Regards,
    Tanvir Imam

Hi, I should send thank you to all of you long time ago, but I couldn’t because of many reasons! Anyway, now I like to thank you all for supporting me to spread my voice to everyone. I never thought LabAid Cardiac Hospital would give that kind of treatment to my father. If I know aobut that then I would try other hospitals other then LabAid Cardiac Hospital. Yes, I aslo do agree that Apollo is one of the worse hospital in Bangladesh. We also had another experience at Apollo.

    Thanks again for the awareness!

These are the real feature of some Super Aristocrat private Hospital in Bangladesh, LABAID is one of the most corrupted one.

All are requested to avoid LABAID CARDIAC HOSPITAL & DIAGNOSTIC CENTER( In diagnostic center found Date expired Reagent)

If require go Singapure for better treatment with same expenses. or go to GP then NICVD ( National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease) for proper care.

    Really pathetic,

But I think every private especially in Bangladesh gives maximum priority in commercial purpose not for the patient’s interest. So U should find out all Hospitals fault like Labaid if you want probe yourself authentic.

Its distressing to see the condition of the hospitals in Bangladesh whether private or government hospitals. In most places, there is no regard for human life, and certainly no compassion for it. Living in Bangladesh it sometimes feels that it would be better to suffer without treatment than to suffer from it.

Hey you f…* b…* Samad. Which university gave you this Prof Title. Are the Univ in BD so careless about the tiles they confer. No wonder such is the situation with the country where there is widespread corruption and Univ are churning out criminals day in and out. I will ask the World Medical Association or (if such a body exists in BD) to immediately intervene and take these people to task where there is so much of injustice crime and violation of human rights. Its unbelievle thats Doctors too are also in this money making game. These are not doctors but white collared murderers!!!!

  20. Dr. shammi 2008-11-26, 2:35 pm

    Hi,
This is really painful to accept the death of our near and dear ones due to the negligency of the doctors in Bangladesh. I am also a doctor and thanks to Almighty that I have been working in SAUDI ARABIA since 1997.

And if these sorts of things happen in saudi really that doctor will be penalized without any questions. I think same thing goes with other countries except our “SONAR” Bangla.

I pay my hertiest respect and tributes to those people who suffered due to Labaid’s mishaps.

Time has come– this hospitals should be closed and the doctors involved in this criminal acts their medical certificate should be taken back and they should be put in jail for ever.

Let us come and raise our voice soon.

Allah help us to overcome these ordeal.Thanks.
